Midori Umetsu,
was born in Gumma/Japan.
After spending some time of her childhood in Tokyo, and Texas/USA, she grew up in Yamagata/Japan untill she graduated highschool.
After graduating highschool, she had took the bachelor's degree of English American literature in Aoyama Gakuin
University (Tokyo).
While she was studying in Aoyama Gakuin University, she watched an opera for the first time in her life in 2007 and was deeply impressed, and started to study voice in 2008 spring by Prof. Hiroko Hayama, who performed the leading role in the opera she watched.
She had studied in Tokyo college of music, vocal performance course and graduated at the top of the list in 2013.
From March 2014, she is taking lessons in Vienna by Prof. Ralf Doering and Prof. Yayoi Doering.
She had already performed in operas and oratorios since she was a student in Japanese opera productions, for example,
2011 The young girl "The Trumpeter of Sackingen", Narrator "Red Ogre and Blue Ogre", Soprano soloist 2 "Gloria" composed by Vivaldi.
2012 Jouvenot "Adriana Lecouvreur", Queen of the night "The Magic Flute".
2013 Norina "Don Pasquale", The daughter "Red Ogre and Blue Ogre", Lakme "Lakme".
2014 Fiakermilli "Arabella".
2015 Hebe "Les Indes galantes" and so on.
She sang in Japan, Austria and Italy in Concerts.
